Living With Uncertainty

Living With Uncertainty

It is hard to live even in the temporarily uncertain situations of our structured, well-planned days. Going through an unprecedented, sudden pause in our lives for an unknown period of time and with unknown consequences is extremely challenging for most of us. With the “Living With Uncertainty” workshop I am hoping to offer a space for:
– remembering that we are not alone in this challenge; it is a struggle that belongs to our common humanity,
– safely exploring and getting acquainted with our own unique inner struggles around uncertainty while still holding the communality of it to our species,
– hearing some perspectives NVC offers on the unknown nature of life which might support us to step and breath into unknown,
– trying a practice based on mindfulness and NVC to help ourselves to come back to a sense of groundedness and belonging to life where we can find reconnect to our resources to carry on with life in an integrated, mindful way.

    Trainer:
    Özge Altınkaya Erkök
I was born and grew up in İstanbul, Turkey. After completing my higher studies in Art History and Museum Studies subsequently, I worked in museums and taught at a university for 12 years. Meeting with Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in 2013 was a tremendous turning point in my personal life. It helped me not only in restoring my broken relationship with myself in a sustainable, deep way but also offered me the perspective and practices I need for building up fulfilling, compassionate, honest and choiceful relationships with others and life.
While continuing my practices in Arts&Heritage field, I also deepened my NVC knowledge and consciousness by joining various NVC trainings, practices and communities. In 2016, I started offering one-to-one coaching sessions, workshops for individuals and groups, and organizing international workshops for other trainers. Relocating to London in 2019, I continue my practices here in London, in Istanbul and also on various online platforms.
I am particularly passionate about the transformative potentials and practices of NVC in social change, community building and conflict resolution.
