Against empathy? Gabriel Stille

Against empathy?

Why do some people argue against empathy? Do they mean something different by the word, than those engaged in empathy circles? What other reasons could there be?
If you have ever been met with resistance when advocating empathy – or if you indeed object to some uses of empathy yourself – this is a space for learning , sharing and exploring. We’ll talk about some of the different uses of the word “empathy” throughout history and in different contexts today. The workshop is also a space for us to try to hear the needs behind a “no to empathy”, and to explore some ways to go on from there, that still fosters understanding, connection and a shared perception of reality.
