What this session offers you

Rumi’s poem “The Guesthouse“ invites us to welcome all our Feeling-Guests into our home. How can we be a great host to them?

In this session, we will spend quality-time with them using the framework of Core Emotions on our situation, and through visual activities, really get to know them and what they Value.

We will wake up these Values inside us with movement activities. And then we can activate them by offering each other Wishes.

Why? This can help with Shifts – to expand our Inner Space and to open us out to new Possibilities which is what Change and Growth need.

Try this variation of Core Emotions, Values and Wishes from how we often focus instead on feelings, needs and requests.

To try the practices please bring if you can:-

• – Several sheets of blank paper: A4 works well and larger can be helpful

• – Colours: colouring pencils, crayons, felt pens etc

• – A black marker, different thicknesses can be helpful

• – Something to write with

• – Something to stick paper if you have it

• – A Feelings List and Needs List for reference

• – Time and space for self-nurturing self-connection in empathic creativity

• – Guidance and demos

• – Practising in a supportive space

Suitable for mostly everyone

Most workshops during “Time for Empathy” are not recorded, so the only possibility of participating is to join the session. The sessions that will be recorded, we will make available to others if the quality is satisfying. We may also use parts of the recording for marketing and publicity across various media. If you do not wish to be recorded, switch off your camera and microphone for the whole duration of the session.

I enjoy fun, caring, creativity, experimentation, embodiment and discernment in living Life.

I am an experienced trained Change and Conflict Coach, Mediator, advanced Restorative Justice practitioner accredited with the UK Restorative Justice Council, and NVC trainer and mentor. 

I offer a personalised and friendly approach whatever stage you are at in your journey. My work is trauma-informed, and I bring skills and experience from a wide range of different healing and creative modalities as I value their unique strengths. 

I have been supporting and teaching NVC programmes in the international NVC community for six years. What inspires me about this courageous work is that consistent practice in the NVC paradigm has repaired and nourished difficult, sometimes broken, family, friend & work relationships. 

How? Because it has transformed how I feel about and make sense of three foundations: of myself, of how the world works, and of myself in the world. In this way also enlivening how I contribute towards wider social change.

To my understanding of life and my work, I bring:

• – An MSc in Strategy, Change & Leadership

• – 30 years  in the education, culture-heritage-arts and community development sectors, working both at the grassroots as well as leading teams in organisational change

• – 10 years developing an intentional co-housing community

• – My lived experience of intersectionality through which I embrace a systemic frame of power-diversity-equity-inclusion
