Description

An experiential introduction to Nonviolent Communication

Welcome to this free online introduction to Nonviolent Communication (NVC) with CNVC trainer Joachim Berggren. In this webinar, you will not only learn the basics of NVC – you will also explore a real situation from your life and notice what happens inside you. This is an opportunity to experience a shift in how you relate to challenging interactions.

Do you already want to take your knowledge further? The NVC Basics Course is where real change happens – with step-by-step guidance and space to practise in your own life. Read more and register here.

What to Expect?

– A 90-minute interactive webinar combining brief teaching with guided self-reflection exercises; you will work individually with your own experience while remaining in the main group – no breakout rooms or partner sharing required

– Reflect on a real-life situation, connect to your feelings and needs, and practice NVC steps in a safe environment

– No pressure to “do it right” – this is about noticing, exploring, practicing and gaining clarity

– A relaxed space to go at your own pace; participation is optional, and you don’t need to interact with anyone else

Who is this webinar for?

– Anyone interested in communicating more clearly and compassionately

Beginners curious about NVC

Experienced practitioners looking for structured reflection

– People who want to respond rather than react in challenging interactions

How It Works

– A step-by-step overview of the four components of NVC: observations, feelings, needs, and requests – and the four ways we can practise it: self-empathy, silent empathy, empathy, and honesty

– Short guided exercises and reflections to explore your reactions, connect with your inner experience, and expand empathy for yourself and others

Time for Empathy International project Empathic Way Europe Partners Joachim BerggrenI work with groups and individuals who want to communicate better and build sustainable connections in their families, with their friends, at their workplaces, and in the broader community. I offer lectures, workshops, mediation, and individual training online, in person, and on the Needs Space platform. I came into contact with NVC in 2005, and in 2009/2010, I participated in my first annual program with Friare Liv (Liv Larsson and Kay Rung). I have participated in a wide range of NVC workshops both in Sweden and abroad. Since 2010, I have been sharing and teaching NVC myself. In 2017, I became a certified NVC trainer by CNVC. My main focus within NVC has been teaching NVC fundamentals and community building, as well as organising major events, such as the European and Swedish NVC festivals, events offered by the Swedish NVC association and the Swedish IIT 2025. What has captivated my interest lately is how we humans develop, both as individuals and as groups, and how this evolutionary drive affects our ability to learn and integrate NVC into our lives.
