In my understanding the essence of Nonviolent Communication is in manifesting the spirit of heart-to-heart connection, beyond our conditioned, traumatized and reactive minds. This vision may inspire us to study the processes offered by NVC, only to again and again find ourselves using all the prescribed and precise words, just to end up failing in establishing the connection. When this happens we may manage to resist the temptation to blame the other (like “with individuals like this one NVC just does not seem to work…”), but the question remains: “What is going on and where am I stuck?”

It turns out that the possibility for a connection to happen opens up or shuts down long before we even open our mouth to self-express, or empathise…, as it has to do with how we perceive the situation, how we interpret it, how we relate to it with our energy field. So much, that the words we say actually hardly matter at all. And, of course, the other will, consciously or unconsciously, respond to this undercurrent regardless of our perhaps perfect words.

About the course:

In this course we will be exploring how our human cognitive systems as well as our personal patterns and core beliefs keep us from truly connecting with others in the spirit of compassion and authenticity. We will explore how we can bring genuine curiosity and openness into our beings so that our words will actually be conveying the state of our energy field and of our inner world. Thus hopefully enabling the principles of NVC to actually bring about connection.

The focus of my work has always been on creating a quality of connection and communication between individuals that enables a true collaboration and co-creation of the environment that works for all.

So far I have facilitated trainings in over 30 countries around the world, including most countries in Europe, as well as the USA, the Middle East and the Far East, Australia… Besides Nonviolent Communication, I draw from approaches such as the Art of Hosting, Bohmian Dialogue, Contact Improvisation… I used to work as a psychotherapist as well, having held my private practice for 12 years.
